Children

The Bible states the responsibility of Christian education belongs to the family (Deut. 6: 5-9;  Proverbs 22:6, Eph. 6:4), but as a church we need to be a strong encouragement and support to the families that entrust their children to our care.  With this thought in mind, we encourage you to involve your child in the classes and activities we offer.

A staffed nursery is available during the Sunday school hour and during the Sunday morning worship service.

Sunday school is a special time to learn about the love of Jesus and create a foundation every child needs.  From  pre-K through senior high your child will be taught age appropriate lessons that interest and challenge their age group.  We particularly love promotion Sunday in August of each year, when we acknowledge each enrolled student moving to a new class with a certificate of promotion.

During morning worship, usually after the song service and during the morning offering time, children are dismissed to Children’s Church or to the Toddler Room.

Children’s Church is designed for school age children (5 years to 5th grade), while a Toddler Room is available for the younger children.  Each group is lead by teachers committed to bringing the gospel message of Jesus Christ through fun lessons, a puppet ministry and other meaningful activities.

Sunbeams (3 years to 3rd grade), GMA (girls 4th to 12th grade) and Galileans (boys 4th to 12th grade) meet on Sunday evenings at 6:30 p.m.  These programs are dedicated to studying God’s Word and the history and work of the church.

During the school year our Children’s Choir meets on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m.  Children’s Choir is a fun time of learning new songs,  preparing for Christmas and Easter programs and other special program opportunities.  One of the favorite times is Christmas caroling and cookies each year.

In addition to all of the above, LifeSong hosts an annual Vacation Bible School in early summer, a back to school party day at the end of summer and Trunk or Treat in the fall.

There may be other “fun” days sprinkled throughout the year, all designed to provide a safe, wholesome and loving experience for your children.

At LifeSong, we believe our children are not just the church of tomorrow; they are the church of today.
